56
+ ### About GGUF
57
+
58
+ GGUF is a new format introduced by the llama.cpp team on August 21st 2023. It is a replacement for GGML, which is no longer supported by llama.cpp.
59
+
60
+ Here is an incomplete list of clients and libraries that are known to support GGUF:
61
+
62
+ * [llama.cpp](https://github.com/ggerganov/llama.cpp). The source project for GGUF. Offers a CLI and a server option.
63
+ * [text-generation-webui](https://github.com/oobabooga/text-generation-webui), the most widely used web UI, with many features and powerful extensions. Supports GPU acceleration.
64
+ * [KoboldCpp](https://github.com/LostRuins/koboldcpp), a fully featured web UI, with GPU accel across all platforms and GPU architectures. Especially good for story telling.
65
+ * [GPT4All](https://gpt4all.io/index.html), a free and open source local running GUI, supporting Windows, Linux and macOS with full GPU accel.
66
+ * [LM Studio](https://lmstudio.ai/), an easy-to-use and powerful local GUI for Windows and macOS (Silicon), with GPU acceleration. Linux available, in beta as of 27/11/2023.
67
+ * [LoLLMS Web UI](https://github.com/ParisNeo/lollms-webui), a great web UI with many interesting and unique features, including a full model library for easy model selection.
68
+ * [Faraday.dev](https://faraday.dev/), an attractive and easy to use character-based chat GUI for Windows and macOS (both Silicon and Intel), with GPU acceleration.
69
+ * [llama-cpp-python](https://github.com/abetlen/llama-cpp-python), a Python library with GPU accel, LangChain support, and OpenAI-compatible API server.
70
+ * [candle](https://github.com/huggingface/candle), a Rust ML framework with a focus on performance, including GPU support, and ease of use.
71
+ * [ctransformers](https://github.com/marella/ctransformers), a Python library with GPU accel, LangChain support, and OpenAI-compatible AI server. Note, as of time of writing (November 27th 2023), ctransformers has not been updated in a long time and does not support many recent models.

+ ## Compatibility
98
+
99
+ These quantised GGUFv2 files are compatible with llama.cpp from August 27th onwards, as of commit [d0cee0d](https://github.com/ggerganov/llama.cpp/commit/d0cee0d36d5be95a0d9088b674dbb27354107221)
100
+
101
+ They are also compatible with many third party UIs and libraries - please see the list at the top of this README.
102

103
+ ## Explanation of quantisation methods
104
+
105

106
+ <summary>Click to see details</summary>
107
+
108
+ The new methods available are:
109
+
110
+ * GGML_TYPE_Q2_K - "type-1" 2-bit quantization in super-blocks containing 16 blocks, each block having 16 weight. Block scales and mins are quantized with 4 bits. This ends up effectively using 2.5625 bits per weight (bpw)
111
+ * GGML_TYPE_Q3_K - "type-0" 3-bit quantization in super-blocks containing 16 blocks, each block having 16 weights. Scales are quantized with 6 bits. This end up using 3.4375 bpw.
112
+ * GGML_TYPE_Q4_K - "type-1" 4-bit quantization in super-blocks containing 8 blocks, each block having 32 weights. Scales and mins are quantized with 6 bits. This ends up using 4.5 bpw.
113
+ * GGML_TYPE_Q5_K - "type-1" 5-bit quantization. Same super-block structure as GGML_TYPE_Q4_K resulting in 5.5 bpw
114
+ * GGML_TYPE_Q6_K - "type-0" 6-bit quantization. Super-blocks with 16 blocks, each block having 16 weights. Scales are quantized with 8 bits. This ends up using 6.5625 bpw

145
+ ## How to download GGUF files
146
+
147
+ **Note for manual downloaders:** You almost never want to clone the entire repo! Multiple different quantisation formats are provided, and most users only want to pick and download a single file.
148
+
149
+ The following clients/libraries will automatically download models for you, providing a list of available models to choose from:
150
+
151
+ * LM Studio
152
+ * LoLLMS Web UI
153
+ * Faraday.dev
154
+
155
+ ### In `text-generation-webui`
156
+
157
+ Under Download Model, you can enter the model repo: TheBloke/TenyxChat-7B-v1-GGUF and below it, a specific filename to download, such as: tenyxchat-7b-v1.Q4_K_M.gguf.
158
+
159
+ Then click Download.
160
+
161
+ ### On the command line, including multiple files at once
162
+
163
+ I recommend using the `huggingface-hub` Python library:
164
+
165
+ ```shell
166
+ pip3 install huggingface-hub
167
+ ```
168
+
169
+ Then you can download any individual model file to the current directory, at high speed, with a command like this:
170
+
171
+ ```shell
172
+ huggingface-cli download TheBloke/TenyxChat-7B-v1-GGUF tenyxchat-7b-v1.Q4_K_M.gguf --local-dir . --local-dir-use-symlinks False
173
+ ```
174
+
175
+ <details>
176
+ <summary>More advanced huggingface-cli download usage (click to read)</summary>
177
+
178
+ You can also download multiple files at once with a pattern:
179
+
180
+ ```shell
181
+ huggingface-cli download TheBloke/TenyxChat-7B-v1-GGUF --local-dir . --local-dir-use-symlinks False --include='*Q4_K*gguf'
182
+ ```
183
+
184
+ For more documentation on downloading with `huggingface-cli`, please see: [HF -> Hub Python Library -> Download files -> Download from the CLI](https://huggingface.co/docs/huggingface_hub/guides/download#download-from-the-cli).
185
+
186
+ To accelerate downloads on fast connections (1Gbit/s or higher), install `hf_transfer`:
187
+
188
+ ```shell
189
+ pip3 install hf_transfer
190
+ ```
191
+
192
+ And set environment variable `HF_HUB_ENABLE_HF_TRANSFER` to `1`:
193
+
194
+ ```shell
195
+ HF_HUB_ENABLE_HF_TRANSFER=1 huggingface-cli download TheBloke/TenyxChat-7B-v1-GGUF tenyxchat-7b-v1.Q4_K_M.gguf --local-dir . --local-dir-use-symlinks False
196
+ ```
197
+
198
+ Windows Command Line users: You can set the environment variable by running `set HF_HUB_ENABLE_HF_TRANSFER=1` before the download command.

203
+ ## Example `llama.cpp` command
204
+
205
+ Make sure you are using `llama.cpp` from commit [d0cee0d](https://github.com/ggerganov/llama.cpp/commit/d0cee0d36d5be95a0d9088b674dbb27354107221) or later.
206
+
207
+ ```shell
208
+ ./main -ngl 35 -m tenyxchat-7b-v1.Q4_K_M.gguf --color -c 8192 --temp 0.7 --repeat_penalty 1.1 -n -1 -p "System: {system_message}\nUser: {prompt}\nAssistant:"
209
+ ```
210
+
211
+ Change `-ngl 32` to the number of layers to offload to GPU. Remove it if you don't have GPU acceleration.
212
+
213
+ Change `-c 8192` to the desired sequence length. For extended sequence models - eg 8K, 16K, 32K - the necessary RoPE scaling parameters are read from the GGUF file and set by llama.cpp automatically. Note that longer sequence lengths require much more resources, so you may need to reduce this value.
214
+
215
+ If you want to have a chat-style conversation, replace the `-p <PROMPT>` argument with `-i -ins`
216
+
217
+ For other parameters and how to use them, please refer to [the llama.cpp documentation](https://github.com/ggerganov/llama.cpp/blob/master/examples/main/README.md)
218
+
219
+ ## How to run in `text-generation-webui`
220
+
221
+ Further instructions can be found in the text-generation-webui documentation, here: [text-generation-webui/docs/04 ‐ Model Tab.md](https://github.com/oobabooga/text-generation-webui/blob/main/docs/04%20%E2%80%90%20Model%20Tab.md#llamacpp).
222
+
223
+ ## How to run from Python code
224
+
225
+ You can use GGUF models from Python using the [llama-cpp-python](https://github.com/abetlen/llama-cpp-python) or [ctransformers](https://github.com/marella/ctransformers) libraries. Note that at the time of writing (Nov 27th 2023), ctransformers has not been updated for some time and is not compatible with some recent models. Therefore I recommend you use llama-cpp-python.
226
+
227
+ ### How to load this model in Python code, using llama-cpp-python
228
+
229
+ For full documentation, please see: [llama-cpp-python docs](https://abetlen.github.io/llama-cpp-python/).
230
+
231
+ #### First install the package
232
+
233
+ Run one of the following commands, according to your system:
234
+
235
+ ```shell
236
+ # Base ctransformers with no GPU acceleration
237
+ pip install llama-cpp-python
238
+ # With NVidia CUDA acceleration
239
+ CMAKE_ARGS="-DLLAMA_CUBLAS=on" pip install llama-cpp-python
240
+ # Or with OpenBLAS acceleration
241
+ CMAKE_ARGS="-DLLAMA_BLAS=ON -DLLAMA_BLAS_VENDOR=OpenBLAS" pip install llama-cpp-python
242
+ # Or with CLBLast acceleration
243
+ CMAKE_ARGS="-DLLAMA_CLBLAST=on" pip install llama-cpp-python
244
+ # Or with AMD ROCm GPU acceleration (Linux only)
245
+ CMAKE_ARGS="-DLLAMA_HIPBLAS=on" pip install llama-cpp-python
246
+ # Or with Metal GPU acceleration for macOS systems only
247
+ CMAKE_ARGS="-DLLAMA_METAL=on" pip install llama-cpp-python
248
+
249
+ # In windows, to set the variables CMAKE_ARGS in PowerShell, follow this format; eg for NVidia CUDA:
250
+ $env:CMAKE_ARGS = "-DLLAMA_OPENBLAS=on"
251
+ pip install llama-cpp-python
252
+ ```
253
+
254
+ #### Simple llama-cpp-python example code
255
+
256
+ ```python
257
+ from llama_cpp import Llama
258
+
259
+ # Set gpu_layers to the number of layers to offload to GPU. Set to 0 if no GPU acceleration is available on your system.
260
+ llm = Llama(
261
+ model_path="./tenyxchat-7b-v1.Q4_K_M.gguf", # Download the model file first
262
+ n_ctx=8192, # The max sequence length to use - note that longer sequence lengths require much more resources
263
+ n_threads=8, # The number of CPU threads to use, tailor to your system and the resulting performance

+ # TenyxChat: Language Model Alignment using Tenyx Fine-tuning
336
+
337
+ Introducing TenyxChat, a series of ChatGPT-like models trained to function as useful assistants through preference tuning, using Tenyx's recently released advanced fine-tuning technology ([VentureBeat article](https://venturebeat.com/ai/tenyx-aims-to-fix-llms-catastrophic-forgetting-problem/)). Our first chat model in the series, TenyxChat-7B-v1, is trained using the [Direct Preference Optimization (DPO)](https://arxiv.org/abs/2305.18290) framework on the open-source AI feedback dataset [UltraFeedback](https://huggingface.co/datasets/HuggingFaceH4/ultrafeedback_binarized).
338
+
339
+ We fine-tune [Openchat-3.5](https://arxiv.org/pdf/2309.11235.pdf) with our proprietary approach ([blog](https://www.tenyx.com/post/forgetting-and-toxicity-in-llms-a-deep-dive-on-fine-tuning-methods), [service](https://www.tenyx.com/fine-tuning)), which shows an increase in [MT-Bench](https://arxiv.org/abs/2306.05685), without a drop in performance of the model on other benchmarks. Our approach aims to mitigate forgetting in LLMs in a computationally efficient manner, thereby enabling continual fine-tuning capabilities without altering the pre-trained output distribution. TenyxChat-7B-v1 was trained using eight A100s (80GB) for two hours, with a training setup obtained from HuggingFaceH4 ([GitHub](https://github.com/huggingface/alignment-handbook)).

348
+ ## Usage
349
+
350
+ Our model uses a simple chat template based on OpenChat 3.5. The chat template usage with a Hugging face generation example is shown below.
351
+
352
+ ### Chat Template (Jinja)
353
+
354
+ ```rust
355
+ {{ bos_token }}
356
+ {% for message in messages %}
357
+ {% if message['role'] == 'user' %}
358
+ {{ 'User:' + message['content'] + eos_token }}
359
+
360
+ {% elif message['role'] == 'system' %}
361
+ {{ 'System:' + message['content'] + eos_token }}
362
+
363
+ {% elif message['role'] == 'assistant' %}
364
+ {{ 'Assistant:' + message['content'] + eos_token }}
365
+
366
+ {% endif %}
367
+
368
+ {% if loop.last and add_generation_prompt %}\n{{ 'Assistant:' }}{% endif %}\n{% endfor %}
369
+ ```
370
+
371
+ ### Hugging face Example
372
+
373
+ ```python
374
+ import torch
375
+ from transformers import pipeline
376
+
377
+ pipe = pipeline("text-generation", model="tenyx/TenyxChat-7B-v1", torch_dtype=torch.bfloat16, device_map="auto")
378
+
379
+ messages = [
380
+ {"role": "system", "content": "You are a friendly chatbot who always responds in the style of a pirate."},
381
+ {"role": "user", "content": "Hi. I would like to make a hotel booking."},
382
+ ]
383
+
384
+ prompt = pipe.tokenizer.apply_chat_template(messages, tokenize=False, add_generation_prompt=True)
385
+ outputs = pipe(prompt, max_new_tokens=512, do_sample=False)
386
+ ```
387
+
388
+ ### Output
389
+
390
+ ```
391
+ <s> System:You are a friendly chatbot who always responds in the style of a pirate.<|end_of_turn|>
392
+ User:Hi. I would like to make a hotel booking.<|end_of_turn|>
393
+ Assistant: Ahoy there me hearty! Arr, ye be lookin' fer a place to rest yer weary bones, eh?
394
+ Well then, let's set sail on this grand adventure and find ye a swell place to stay!
395
+
396
+ To begin, tell me the location ye be seekin' and the dates ye be lookin' to set sail.
397
+ And don't ye worry, me matey, I'll be sure to find ye a place that'll make ye feel like a king or queen on land!
398
+ ```

+ # Performance
401
+
402
+ At the time of release (Jan 2024), TenyxChat-7B-v1 is the highest-ranked chat model on the MT-Bench evaluation available for download and commercial use. We list here the benchmark results on several standard setups while comparing popular 7B models as baselines.
403
+
404
+ ## MT-Bench
405
+
406
+ MT-Bench is a benchmark made up of 80 high-quality multi-turn questions. These questions fall into eight categories: Writing, Roleplay, Reasoning, Math, Coding, Extraction, STEM, and Humanities. The chat models are rated using GPT-4 on a scale of 1 to 10, with higher values corresponding to better responses.

435
+
436
+ We assess models on 7 benchmarks using the [Eleuther AI Language Model Evaluation Harness](https://github.com/EleutherAI/lm-evaluation-harness). This setup is based of that used for [Open LLM Leaderboard.](https://huggingface.co/spaces/HuggingFaceH4/open_llm_leaderboard)

454
+
455
+ **Note:** While the Open LLM Leaderboard indicates that these chat models perform less effectively compared to the leading 7B model, it's important to note that the leading model struggles in the multi-turn chat setting of MT-Bench (as demonstrated in our evaluation [above](#comparison-with-additional-open-llm-leaderboard-models)). In contrast, TenyxChat-7B-v1 demonstrates robustness against common fine-tuning challenges, such as *catastrophic forgetting*. This unique feature enables TenyxChat-7B-v1 to excel not only in chat benchmarks like MT-Bench, but also in a wider range of general reasoning benchmarks on the Open LLM Leaderboard.
456
+
457
+ # Limitations
458
+
459
+ TenyxChat-7B-v1, like other small-sized language models, has its own set of limitations. We haven’t fine-tuned the model explicitly to align with **human** safety preferences. Therefore, it is capable of producing undesirable outputs, particularly when adversarially prompted. From our observation, the model still tends to struggle with tasks that involve reasoning and math questions. In some instances, it might generate verbose or extraneous content.
